That gorilla getting shot
Seems like this is the hot topic of the moment.

What's everyone's views on it then?

Should the gorilla have been shot?

Are the parents to blame?

Should they have been shot?

Is the whole situation, as some are suggesting, RACIST?

Should zoos be banned?

Will anyone even care by next week?

Discuss.

Re: That gorilla getting shot
do you have a link to the actual story?

I think gorillas are pricks tbh so don't have an issue with it in principle.

Re: That gorilla getting shot
So a poor animal is impounded in a zoo for life just so humans can gawp at it.
A kid falls into it's pen and the poor animal is killed.

Answer = ban zoos or suffer the consequencies if you are stupid enough to fall in a animals pen or let your child fall in.

Neil Ardley said that he's out of contract and 34 years old.

Has HairyHammer got really upset about it yet?

The bit I don't get is why they didn't try tranquelizing it first? They said that they didn't as they can take a while to take effect, yet they still waited for ages, while the crowds screams agitated the gotilla even more, before they shot it.

Should have tranq'd it and then shot it if it carried on.

How are "gorrilas pricks"?
Idiotic thing to say.

Should have shot the most dangerous animal on the planet....the kid!

7 Billion people.

A few hundred gorillas left in the wild.

Humans are cunts.

Re: That gorilla getting shot
The kid had asked to be put in the pen and the mum had dropped him by mistake after a dangle.

Personally the child should have been shot and either way, the gorilla looked like it was only protecting the kid anyway so an overreaction.

Re: That gorilla getting shot
The zoo is at fault. The enclosure should be secure enough to prevent a four year old getting into it. With the best will in the world, we all try to keep an eye on our kids all the time, I doubt if anyone actually manages it though.

Re: That gorilla getting shot
I'm no expert but pretty sure getting a dart in the neck would have aggravated it before sending it to sleep.

Really worth risking aggravating a fucking huge gorilla sat right next to a toddler?

Could have ripped the kid to shreds in an instant well before they managed to shoot it for real.

I didn't know that the mum dropped him in there. Scratch what I said, she's at fault.

Imagine the reaction if they tried the tranquilliser and the kid would have died.

Re: That gorilla getting shot
i doubt the gorilla would have killed the kid but they should lock up the kid's cunt parent/s. a three year old doesn"t get in a gorilla's enclosure on their own

like that mental fucker who climbed in with the two lions, he shouldn't have been protected

JustAFatKevinDavies 10:45 Tue May 31
Re: That gorilla getting shot

Re: That gorilla getting shot
After having a think about it, yes the mother was wrong not to keep her son in control but WHAT THE FUCK has the zoo allowed a small child to gain easy access?

Re: That gorilla getting shot
The gorrila would have more likely protected the kid than attack it too.

Far Cough 10:47 Tue May 31
Re: That gorilla getting shot
Oh ok, the BBC news I read didn't say the mother dropped him in the pen

Re: That gorilla getting shot
I think we'll find that the enclosure was compliant in terms of an unaided child not being able to get through or over it. In a country as litigious as the USA I'm sure the zoo authorities had this angle covered.
